Ruins of the Future

The 2-chapter 80-page Arabic graphic novel created by George Azmy and myself (one chapter each) is now at the printers and should be oozing out of the machines with blotched ink on horribly recycled paper in only a few days. I'ma head out there now to see how it's progressing.

Totally excited.

Being Sexy...

...is an integral part of being a graphic designer, as I tell Mostafa Mourad in this short interview he did with me:

Push Play, Habibi Videos

Bartosz, one of the participants in the Push Play, Habibi workshop I set up back in November 2008, reminded me that I hadn't put up the resulting videos from the workshop yet. So here they are, Bartosz:

Attack of the Robot Girls!!

I did this little experiment based on a previous experiment I did and put on Daftar Tajreebi, where I put up a little graphic experiment every Thursday. Daftar Tajreebi is a little online "copy book" where Omar El Zo'bi, Diana Hawatmeh, Najla Al Bassam, Nada, and myself share our occassional graphic experiments.

But anyone is welcome to experiment on the Daftar. Well, if Omar likes your work anyway. Send your experiments to omernos@yahoo.com

What About Us

Aya Mustafa made an incredible incredible song called "What About Us." After the first listen, I instantly replayed it while making this illustration:

After that, I replayed it over and over no less than 13 times.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to the song, but Aya's cover of Dave Mathew's Spoon is up on Youtube.

More Ganzeer Furniture

As a graphic designer you start to pile up a lot of junk that you can't particularly throw out but don't necessarily need to look through on a daily basis; things like previously produced material for clients (business cards, brochures, invitations, magazines, or books), or paper samples, or sheets of large illustrations and drawings that you don't have wall space for, and so on and so forth.

So I'm building this massive, but practically modular, storage unit:
